Organizing Is So Much More Than Organizing

client review

Today, one of my clients asked me to join him on a walk with his dog. We couldn’t make it work, so we rescheduled for next week Sunday—this stayed with me. He’s in his 70s, his family lives in Europe, and we bonded after I organized his home and shared stories about our rescued fur babies.

Moments like these remind me why I love what I do.

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of helping another client, “Lisa”, who called me after her cousin passed away. A hospice worker had given her my information, and she wasn’t sure I’d be able to help since I’m a “Home Organizer." Lisa is the only living relative of her cousin, lives out of state, and had just undergone back surgery. Her request was simple: pack up the valuable items, ship them to her, and clear out the rest of the house.

She was surprised to learn that the hospital didn’t provide help after her cousin’s passing, and the funeral home didn’t handle personal matters. That’s when I stepped in to take care of everything for her, offering peace of mind during an emotionally difficult time.

These are the kinds of experiences that make starting and growing my business so worthwhile. I’ve been invited to birthdays, dinners, and now dog walks—and I wouldn’t trade these moments for anything.

For me, organizing isn’t just about creating order. It’s about showing up for people during times of transition, building relationships, and making life just a little easier for someone else.

If you’re a realtor or work with seniors, you’ve probably seen how overwhelming these situations can be for your clients. Whether it’s helping a senior downsize, supporting someone after a loss, or staging a home for a smooth sale, I bring care, compassion, and the ability to say "yes" when it matters most.

Organizing is so much more than organizing—it’s about helping people feel seen, supported, and cared for.

If you know someone who could use a little extra help, I’d love to be that person for them.
